The Feeding America website declares, “One in eight Americans is fighting hunger, and we need your help to join us in the fight to end this national struggle.” We are going to respond to this call to action. Our goal is to give 10,000 meals to Feeding America by Dec 24th and this is how we plan to do it: For every recommendation you give us through Twitter, we will donate one meal to Feeding America.

Find out how you can participate at: http://getondining.com/hunger

As you know, our goal is to promote locally-owned restaurants recommended by people who love them. With this in mind, we want to make recommending locally-owned restaurants easy for you. There are a couple of ways to recommend a restaurant.

To recommend a locally-owned restaurant on Twitter simply tweet the name, city (and neighborhood if appropriate), state, & add: #EatIndie

It’s that simple. We’ll find all tweets with #EatIndie in them and do the hard work of entering them into our database.

If you’re not on Twitter, simply visit http://getondining.com/suggest to recommend an independent restaurant. Be sure to include the name, city (and neighborhood if appropriate), & state.

We look forward to hearing about your favorite spots!

We are excited to participate in a little social experiment called Brand My BMW tonight. The bumper sticker is printed and our fee has been paid. Now all we have to do is slap the sticker on that nice car. Stay tuned for photos and videos.

Get on Dining is a brand new site aimed at collecting restaurant recommendations from people who eat locally (we like to say “eat indie”) and promoting those restaurants. We are picky though. We only want to promote locally-owned restaurants that serve great food (we take your word for it) at affordable prices (under $30+/- per plate).
